The Quiet Power of Mornings
Why yoga traditions call it the “golden hour”

Golden hour is the short window just after sunrise, when the light is soft, warm and golden in tone.
It’s named for the quality of the sunlight at that time of day - gentle rather than harsh - and many people find there’s a similar quality to the energy of the morning too... calmer, quieter, more spacious.
Before the pace of the day begins, it can feel a little easier to connect back to yourself. The mind is often clearer, the breath steadier and there’s an opportunity to set an intention for how you want to move through the day ahead.
Morning movement doesn’t have to be intense
Morning movement doesn’t have to be intense to be powerful.
Even ten intentional minutes of stretching, breathing, dancing or mindful movement can help regulate the nervous system, lift energy levels and create a sense of calm and joy that carries into the rest of the day.
As we move towards the longest days of the year, this can be a lovely time to explore creating small morning rituals that support you — whether that’s stepping outside with a cup of tea, taking a few deep breaths before work, or rolling out your mat before the day fully begins.
