An intimate 4 week introduction to the practice and principles of meditation
with Tuesday McNeill, Senior Yoga Teacher & Teacher Trainer
ABOUT THE COURSE
This intimate 4 week course limited to 9 participants invites you to discover some of the main principles of meditation through embodied movement, breath awareness, contemplation and relaxation.
According to Patanjali, meditation is the first cornerstone of practice, with perhaps the most important sutra being 1.2 "yogah chitta vritti nirodhah", the essence being “Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind”
Where attention goes, energy flows and while the 21st century world keeps spinning on the axis of distraction, we get pulled further from our own centre.
The teachings of yoga have been tried and tested for centuries by those seeking a way to find calm amidst the storms of life, to deepen their connections to what matters and share the benefits of their practice with the world.
The aim of this 4 week course which is limited to 9 participants is to encourage a spirit of enquiry, through cultivating curiosity and engaging with 'the rich lens of attention'.
YOUR TEACHER
Tuesday McNeill is a highly respected senior Yoga teacher and trainer...
Yoga is my passion; it uplifts, inspires and educates me on a daily basis. This process starts on the mat but doesn’t end there.
Yoga can teach us how to be mindful, open, energised, kind, grateful – the qualities of our true nature that exist within us at all times.
Yoga practice is about learning to live a life of balance. The Urban Yogi approach combines the physical challenges of posture work with an exploration of yoga’s potential for personal development and self- awareness. Postures, breath work, focused awareness and relaxation techniques can encourage you to explore your inner world. Learn to understand your thoughts, feelings and reactions on the yoga mat and you can begin to apply what you discover to everyday life.
I look forward to meeting you on the journey.
Om shanti!
