Yoga 101:

Body Wisdom

A 4-Week Journey Into the Foundations of Practice

with Tina Moxon, Senior Yoga Teacher & Teacher Trainer

ABOUT THE COURSE

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or returning after time away, our Yoga 101: Body Wisdom course is a welcoming and empowering way to begin your journey.

Over four weeks, you'll build confidence in your practice by learning the foundations of yoga - movement, breath, meditation and philosophy - through the lens of body awareness.

Each week focuses on a different area of the body, helping you to feel grounded, open, and more at home within yourself.  Over four weeks, we’ll journey from the ground up—starting with the feet and moving through the hips, spine, heart, and upper body—building awareness, strength, and ease as we explore how each part supports a balanced and embodied yoga practice.

Taught in a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, this course is ideal for absolute beginners as well as seasoned yogis looking to reconnect with the basics.

01

Feet & Foundations

We begin with the feet—our roots.

You’ll discover how strong, aware foundations in the feet affect your entire posture and practice. We’ll also explore breath awareness through simple pranayama (breathwork) and an introduction to meditation.

02

Hips & Postural Integrity

This week we explore the hips in both standing and seated poses, and how hip mobility influences the spine and legs. We continue with pranayama (breathwork), meditation and a gentle introduction to yoga philosophy.

03

Spine, Chest & Heart

Now, our attention turns to the spine and chest - vital centres of movement, breath, and emotional energy. We’ll explore spinal alignment, heart-opening postures, and begin to touch on the chakra system.

04

Upper Body & Mindfulness

In our final week, we look at the upper body - how we hold tension, how we let go and how awareness of these areas supports inversions and mental clarity. We’ll deepen our meditation practice and explore how yoga philosophy supports peace of mind.

YOUR TEACHER

Tina Moxon is a senior Yoga teacher and highly respected and experienced Teacher Trainer...

My classes are informative, transformative and a little bit of fun.

I have practiced many yoga traditions over 25+ years, training with Jenny Beeken and the Inner Yoga Trust. As a Traditional Therapeutic Thai Massage and Bowen therapist, I love bodies and anatomy and this knowledge informs my practice, as does my love of philosophy and Vedic chanting.

I believe anyone can do yoga and that we continuously learn about ourselves through our practice undoing and transforming years of habits both physically and mentally.

See you on the mat!
